I have 3 boys aged 3 to 8. ;) From the outside there are differences between internal and public trees of both ChromiumOS and Coreboot which put roadblocks in the way of a successful build, at times. I'm not here to tell you how to do things, but if there were a work-around for my current missing "me.bin" issue, which would hopefully leave me with a working firmware, I would appreciate it. John. Okay. :) Well, I copied the file into the coreboot root and it built (the full path is not specified in menuconfig unlike me.bin and descriptor.bin, oddly), but I noticed when it does the cbfstool printout at the end that there's no me.bin this time, replaced by mrc.cache and mrc.bin. Actually file is in 3rdparty/northbridge/intel/sandybridge/ but build isn't picking file up. Well, it doesn't. As for the VGA BIOS I get "make: *** No rule to make target `systemagent-r6.bin', needed by `build/coreboot.pre1'. Stop." It only seems to pull in the descriptor and ME binaries, at least those are the only ones in 3rdparty directory. John. So, I have been trying to do as Ron suggested. First obstacle is VGA BIOS isn't pulled in automatically. I managed to extract that from existing BIOS using fmap_decode and cbfstool, as per the VMX Hacking instructions on the Chromium website, and Coreboot builds, but I'm left with a brick. Can anyone advise what to do/try next? I've also noticed an option which says "Add a system agent binary" in the Northbridge setup, the help for which says "Without this binary Coreboot will not work". Samsung 550 Chromebook own Coreboot

Hey Guys, Thanks to some pointers that Ron Minnich gave me a few weeks back, I've been able to debrick my Samsung 550 Chromebook. However, during the time I waited for my Bus Pirate I started thinking it might be nice to build my own Coreboot, with a SeaBIOS payload. Now I have a build, but flashing it with the ChromiumOS version of Flashrom (in the hope of not overwriting OTP areas) still gives me a brick. I haven't included the ME firmware or the descriptor, and I'm guessing this is the problem? If so, how can I extract these from my original copy of the BIOS (I see they are in there using fmap_decode, but using the syntax for extracting the BOOT_STUB in the VMX hacking doc on the Chromium website doesn't give me what I expected. Also do I need a VGA BIOS? Thanks in advance.
