[LinuxBIOS] VGA help under QEMU

I am trying to boot LinuxBIOS using qemu with VGA support. I have got both V2 & V3 to boot with a FILO payload and the linux test disk image from QEMU website using the -nographic option. I can boot the disk image using qemu and the bios & vgabios it came with. I cannot get it to come up with either V2 or V3. I have tried copying the vgabios.bin image to a local directory and then booting qemu with the -L ./ option. I see the initial QEMu messages a blank screen appears that looks like the VGA output and then it goes down to a small block on the screen. I have compiled V3 with x86emu support. Under V2 I could not figure out how to get it to compile with VGA support. [LinuxBIOS] Long delay between messages.

I'm seeing delays between each of the following messages -- approximately 8 seconds. Is this normal? core0 started: 01 *01*00000001 *02*00000001 *03*00000001 This is a dual opteron system. Thanks, Steve

Hello, We are from Turtle Linux Labs Bangalore and we are commited to Freesoftware. Please clarify our doubts on Linux Bios Development. We have MSI K9N Neo and MSI K9N Ultra mother boards with socketed bios. What is best way to learn and implement fast. - First fix LinuxBios v3 to run qemu on our hardware - Second to start of with understanding the code with real hardware in hand Please guide us on how to get in to project with fast track. The hardest part seems to be getting cardmgr to run from inside the nash script runner. I'm getting a strange select(): bad file descriptor error from it. The funny thing is that if I force nash out into a shell the command works from there, it's just a bit selfdefeating to do it that way... It's frustrating to feel one is so close to making it work but still no luck. I have attempted to recompile the stock kernel from source, but after patching it up using the CentOS buildenvironment it just fails compilation miserably. I have succeeded in compiling the bleeding edge 2.6.23.9 kernel with root_on_nfs, but it corrupts the target fs badly, so I'd like to stay with 2.6.9. > > //Peter
