[LinuxBIOS] VGA bring up

Hi, I have got LinuxBIOS running on my system. I have got serial console output. I am trying to get the display(VGA) working. However, from the serial output, I see something like - 0000:4002 ILLEGAL EXTENDED X86 OPCODE halt_sys:/home/rohit/LinuxBIOSv2/src/devices/emulator/x86emu/ops2.c line 60 and the VGA display does not start. The execution of LinuxBIOS continues beyond this point but no VGA display. What could be the problem? Someone please reply ASAP. Regards , Rohit. Whats the problem? 2. I am using FILO in Etherboot to boot linux already stored in a SATA disk. But I am getting the following message - No Drive detected on IDE Channel 2 What could be the problem? [LinuxBIOS] Saturday BOF

Is any anyone else is arriving Saturday am? I get there bright and early 7:30 am. I can't check into the hotel until 3pm so I'm looking for stuff to do. Ward gets there at 10:30am so we are going to hookup somewhere and mull about. Anywone else available on Sat morning? Perhapas a local? -- Richard A. Smith

Not yet. I think Etherboot and FILO are dead almost, because we intend to put tiny kernel and kexec on the flash. Also I like to try to OLPC kernel + ramdisk + kexec, it seems it can not compiled on AMD64 version Linux. I hope we can have 64 bit version and ramdisk. Even it is some bigger, but it could less bugs.. Please decrease that LOG level to 8. And you should got PCI:00:07.1 init IDE1 IDE0 in your log output. If it still doesn't work, hardcode amd8111_ide.c to enable ide device directly. Check serengeti_leopard or tyan/s2881 etc MB Config.lb to add two lines to enable your IDE devices.
