See the capture from my terminal below. I "make distclean." Then, I save a default config from menuconfig. Then, I "make -j8," which fails. A second "make -j8" works.
This happens on a fully synced working copy.

Thanks for the bug report. There is a problem with dependency checking which we haven't worked through yet. As long as the option table utility is built before you invoke make it will work.

On the second point (seemingly broken trac), who can fix the bug tracker so that I can properly file the bug?
