Hello everyone!
I would like to get my ECS K7S5A working with linuxbios! I noticed that this board in not in the list of supported mainboards, so is there any way I can help you guys to support it without destroying it? Anyways, this is what lspci says:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 735 Host (rev 01) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 5591/5592 AGP 00:02.0 ISA bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 85C503/5513 00:02.2 USB Controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 7001 (rev 07) 00:02.3 USB Controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 7001 (rev 07) 00:02.5 IDE interface: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 5513 [IDE] (rev d0) 00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator (rev a0) //-----the folling components are pci or agp devices:-----> 00:0d.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI (rev 02) 00:0f.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11) 00:0f.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11) 00:11.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C (rev 10) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV15 [GeForce2 Ti] (rev a4)
And, besides that, I got another question; is it possible to boot the kernel out of the eeprom (that chip where the bios is stored at) and mount the root filesystem over NFS? I'd Imagine it would be quite a lot of work to upgrade the kernel but that would be pretty neat....
thanks in advance!
