This is a trivial patch in terms of implementation. It changes checkrom so
that it doesn't depend on a magic number for ROM size, it just prints the
size of the payload in Bytes and KBytes.
Another alternative is to make it configurable based on which payload you're
using, but I'd rather it just print the message for the user.

Can you try to leave these disabled? To get VGA console on the VIA
EPIA-M they are not required.
CONFIG_PCI_ROM_RUN enables use of the x86emu emulator to run the VGA
option rom inside an emulator. The emulator does not work well with the
VIA VGA option rom, so we are running the option rom in vm86 mode from
The vm86 code is in src/mainboard/via/epia-m/vgabios.c
I will send you a working image offline.

I can not reproduce this error yet. Let me know what you think about

Great, big thanks for reminding me about that. I will statically compile it
and add it to the initrd _and_ will call it from 'init'/'linuxrc' script. I
have also ordered 2 extra BIOS chips and as soon as they arrive, I will try
to make it work :-). Thanks also for the tip with gluing the handles to the
chips, I'll give it a go! :D
