I probably don't have 2 left hands but I have really never worked with BIOS before :-). So I need more information: where can I find ChipSelect signal on the motherboard/BIOS socket? I assume that I can skip the whole procedure if I do a 'hot swap' of BIOS chips on the motherboard? I am planning to use Linux to re-program the BIOS so I assume that I can do the 'hot swap' of the chip with motherboard powered on? or is it not advisable approach? -- Coquelicot

Has anyone used gdb in LBv2? I see an option CONFIG_GDB_STUB which is disabled by default. I couldn't find any document on this. Search thru the mailing list gave mixed results. [LinuxBIOS] GA M57SLI _really_ supported?

Hi all, trying to get my machine into productive use with LinuxBIOSv2 I just found major issues with the bridge configuration. The primary PCIe cannot generate interrupts, the other PCIe bridges are configured although the slots are empty (the legacy BIOS does not do that), and the non-express PCI slots don't even seem to exist! Question: is anyone successfully using any of the slots? Torsten

Okay, just wondering, what's the current state of v3? Is any hardware booting on it yet? Where does work need to be done? I thought there was a wiki page on this, but I can't seem to find it now. [LinuxBIOS] TSOP systems usable for LinuxBIOS?

Hi, I have a 440MX system here (that's basically a 440BX + 82371EB in an integrated part AFAIK), which was relatively popular in the past in laptops and other embedded stuff. It _looks_ like this has a TSOP (or similar) part (Fujitsu MBM29F400TC), but I haven't yet opened the box (not sure if I will at all). With the flashrom patch I just posted I'm able to read back the original BIOS image. But how can I do useful development work here if this is really TSOP? Does it _always_ mean the part is soldered-on btw? I'm _not_ willing/able to get into soldering too much, so is there any other possibility I can procede without bricking the box?
