[LinuxBIOS] Tyan S2895 Mptable

The Tyan/s2895 mptable.c is missing two entries for SATA. If the Config.lb file turns the SATA devices on the second CK804, this could be a problem. Ethernet is the only device in the mptable for the second CK804. Steve

I'd suggest you read about the IRQ and MP tables, then look at several examples in the LinuxBIOS source tree, then find someone who knows. Running the mptable util doesn't give you much. [LinuxBIOS] HPET and ACPI

I have a bunch of Dell servers around here that have chipsets supporting HPET (like ICH5) but they don't have the HPET ACPI entry. I have talked to Dell technical support and this is because no Microsoft OS uses HPET. At boot Linux looks for the HPET ACPI entry to know if there is HPET support. Of course on my Dell machines it says there isn't any. What is involved in the HPET ACPI entry? Would it be easy to modify the kernel to look for this device without the entry? -- Jon Smirl jonsmirl(a)gmail.com

I have committed Ollie's Epia code to the new subversion tree: svn co svn://openbios.org/LinuxBIOSv2 It's getting farther than it was before, detecting IDE drives in native pci mode, and we've even seen a bproc node come up once using it. For all I know, it might work fine (albeit pretty slow at points), but I can't do further testing of it until some flash parts come in the mail because the ones I've been testing it with have been flashed a few too many times. What i did about Intel LinuxBIOS support 1. change ICH5 to ICH5R in v1. 2. move E7501 and ICH5R from V1 and V2. For SB, documentation should be enough. Hi all, I'm new to the linuxbios list, but I have successfully running linuxbios (v.1) on a older PII board (Gigabyte's GA-6BXC). A first search in the archive of this list suggests that nforce2-based boards like my Asus A7N8X are not supported. Are there any modern boards for Athlon XP supported by linuxbios? [LinuxBIOS] Pm49FL002 Flash

Hi, I'm new to this list and to the project. I'd like to add support for the Asus A7V600 motherboard (VT8237 and KT600 based). I don't have many time, I'am not very familiar with chipset low level programming, but ... I found LinuxBios is an interesting project ;) Until now, I spend my time gathering informations (manuals and datasheet - with a request to VIA) and looking to the linuxbios code. I just wanted to add flash support to the flash_rom util to start something. My motherboard is using the Pm49FL002 flash memory. It's the same as the Pm49FL004 with 2Mb instead of 4Mb. With respect to the Pm49FL002 datasheet, it seems to act as Jedec. So, I added this to flash_rom.c: {"Pm49FL002", PMC_ID, PMC_49FL002, NULL, 256, 16 * 1024, probe_jedec, erase_chip_jedec, NULL,NULL}, and to flash_rom.h: #define PMC_49FL002 0x6D /* PMC 49FL002 device code */ I just wanted to test the probing (No erasing or programming yet). And ... it fails. flash_rom doesn't find anything : the reported IDs bytes are the same as those reported without the probing memory cycles (0x555,0xAAA, ...) So ... what am I doing wrong ? Do I have to set some bit in the Northbridge registers ?
