Hi, I'm interested in porting LinuxBios to the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. It has an AMD K8 northbridge and IT8712f southbridge. I notice that some work has been done on these chipsets. I hoping the blood, sweat and tears will be minimal. The BIOS is the final frontier for this machine. Cheers, David M. Barr.
If you're using the same ITE IT8712f that I am it is not a southbridge but a Superio chip. Super io controls (amoung other things) the serial ports. Look in your docs a little more or on the board itself to find what the southbridge is.

Yep.
or just send us an lspci
An example is here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showproduct.php/product/3410
Seems to be a CK804, so it should be supported quite well, right?
Uwe.
My bad.
The southbridge is an NVIDIA CK804. Unfortunately there's a few km between my PC and Internet access right now, so I'll have to get back to you about lspci. Does the CK804 come in many flavours?
