My local parts source says they'll order it if I order
150 chips. That's way too much for me. So either we pool
our orders or we find some cheap source willing to ship
smaller quantities.

I have few of each. Was going to get them working with the VIA 
CN400/vt8237n about a year ago. Data sheets were a mess.

avnet seems to sell them in quantities of 1 for ~$3.50.
That leaves someone in the US to buy a few and distribute them
to those of us who would have to pay hefty shipping fees abroad.

You beat me to the offer.  I don't currently need any of the chips but
put me down for some (amount TBD depending on the need) to help meet the
minimum quantity.
