jumping to boot code

Well, I have successfully got the kernel loaded and gunzipped off  my 
hda1 partition.  LinuxBIOS gets all the ways to the point where it jumps 
to the kernel(post card shows FE).  Unfortunately I don't see any 
activity after that.  I do, however, see my post card displaying an 
alternating 97 then 98.  Any thoughts?

Linux is up! those are kernel idle loop post codes.

Your console is not working correctly. But linux is up.
