Chaintech 5TDM2

Hi there ! I've got a quiestion to ask. Is there any possibility that Chaintech 5TDM2 will be supported by LinuxBIOS ?? I have a problem with 32GB HDD capacity limit, and turning off HDD in BIOS and booting Linux from floppy doesn't suit me. Do you have any ideas?? Thx for any help. Michael aka EmDzej.

Because I had posted this output before on before. Could some guide me how to start development of the LinuxBios for my board. What is the setup needed. Are there any development tools available,etc ? There seem to be LinuxBios SDK available at http://www.cwlinux.com/eng/products/products_order.php, which is combination of Hardware and software. But, it does not support our motherboard. Can anyone please give any suggestions on this and can someone share one's experience on the development of LinuxBios for a new motherboard about how one goes about it. Some problems about linuxbios on m758lmr+

Hi,All, Firstly,my Linux (the kernel version is 2.2.14) can't find my sis900 net adapter integrated in m758lmr+ mainboard.Are there some options in config files need to be enabled? Secondly,the interruption number of the net adapter( rtl8139 ) in PCI sockets is zero,so it doesn't work. Thanks for your help. riskin

I have just commited the p4dpe-g2 variant of the p4dpe, structured as src/mainboard/supermicro/p4dpe/g2 I have built and tested this technique and it works fine for both fallback and normal modes, and two sample .config files are included in the directory. So we now have a standard way to handle mainboard variants. Both the mptable and irq_table had to change for the -g2 ron

more 440BX fun

I still haven't had any luck getting linuxBIOS to work, but with the knowledge that my motherboard should be supported, I'm not giving up! I tried following the instructions at cwlinux.com for installing linuxBIOS, but they're so completely different than the instructions in the HOWTO directory of the linuxBIOS code directory, I got pretty confused. Plus, all they seem to offer is .rpm's which is less than helpful. So back to following the steps for l440gx (although my motherboard is a l440Bx) ... The first thing I did was configure by running the python script. My config file looks good, and i pointing to the correct vmlinux, although there's nothing special about my kernel (it's not patched since I don't see a l440bx patch in the patches directory). The l440bx config file says something about using a specific kernel, but since Ron said to just grab the latest kernel code from cwlinux, I take it I can ignore that. My understanding is once I get this to make correctly, I do a "make phlash" all that's left to do is use (in my case) intel's bios update util (iflash.exe) to update my flash with the new linuxBIOS. Hello, I am looking for a Disk On Chip and ZIF socket for my type of Motherboard. My BIOS chip has 2 sides with 7-pins and 2 sides with 9-pins. giving the user a boot option

Does anyone think it is possible the offer the user a choice of commandline parameters. I would like to use the serial console, or something else convienient, to allow the user to choose commandline1 or commandline2. One of them mounts root over nfs, the other from the hard drive. I guess this would be a simplified boot loader such as lilo or grub. Unfortunately this 'boot loader' must reside in the flash chip, since my hard drive will initially be completely blank. John

Hello from Gregg C Levine Eric a number of questions have arisen. First of all, in the readme files for the kernel exec source code, you recommend that I obtain the elfboot toolkit. The suggested reason, is that its because there is a client for the kexec function inside it. Obviously the make elfImage version that you just supplied is the recommended version so that's not a problem. But what finally happened with the elfboot toolkit? Tiger MPX

Hello I'm still struggling with the Tyan Tiger MPX (aka S2466). I tested this time with the programs I downloaded from ftp.lnxi.com, compiling from the tar packet and using etherboot 5.1.5 as payload. It loads the kernel from the tftp server but when it should jump to the kernel, it just dies. I also tried with the pre-made rom image from the rpm-package, with the same result. If I load etherboot from floppy, it gets the kernel from the tftp server and starts it up ok. Any ideas how to proceed ? Regards : Jarmo
