[LinuxBIOS] Problem on compilation

Hi all, I have some problem on LinuxBios compilation, some people tried to help me, but for now I am always blocked. This is all of my step for compil : I use buildtarget like this : in ../targets/ : $ ./buildtarget advantech/pcm-5823 see file log1 in Archive.tar.gz cd advantech/pcm-5823/pcm-5823/ $ export LC_ALL=en_US $ make see file log2 in Archive.tar.gz The log file contains the complete compilation logs. If you have any question on my configuration, ask me ;) in the Archive.tar.gz you have all of my config file thank's for your help regards Ccases PS : My mail server bug last week, and I have receive just a part of mail of the mailing list not all, and I don't know if my last mail as sent or not, sorry if it's a doubled mail.

Hello, I am reading OLPC source codes in LinuxBIOS V2. In src/northbridge/amd/gx2/northbridgeinit.c there is a comment like below: _/* hmm. AMD source has SMM here ... SMM, not DMM? We think DMM */_, and also in src/include/cpu/amd/gx2def.h there are lots of comments about _geode.asm_, mainly for POST value. My question is: Does AMD release BIOS's source codes to OLPC developers? If so, I think it should be open source, where can I get them? Thanks Regards lihao 2007-03-21

[LinuxBIOS] Abit kn9 ultra

Just got my bios savior, so now I'm ready to try to make linuxbios work on my abit kn9 ultra. Attached the lspci -vv and dmidecode. First things first: After more PCI-IDs was added to flash_enable.c flashrom was able to find my bios chip: Calibrating delay loop... Setting up microsecond timing loop 730M loops per second ok No LinuxBIOS table found. Enabling flash write on NVIDIA MCP55...OK Trying SST49LF040, 512 KB probe_jedec: id1 0xbf, id2 0x51 SST49LF040 found at physical address: 0xfff80000 Flash part is SST49LF040 (512 KB) OK, only ENABLING flash write, but NOT FLASHING. Reading with -r does not look like the original bios, as there is readable text in the read image, like "Phoenix Technologies, LTD", this is not visible in the original bios image. Is this correct? This was discussed in a previous thread called " mcp55 flashrom problem". Trying to write a linuxbios image I built (which does probably not work yet anyway): [root@silver flashrom]# ./flashrom -vV -c SST49LF040 -w linuxbios.rom Calibrating delay loop... Hi all, My test machine has an Nvidia plugin card that I'm using with the free software nv driver. I've attached a diff between the Xorg.0.log file booted into the proprietary BIOS, and into LinuxBIOS (Xorg.diff). These are the most interesting bits (lines starting with + are LinuxBIOS): GeForce Go 7900 GTX, Quadro FX 2500M, Quadro FX 1500M, GeForce 6150, GeForce 6150 LE, GeForce 6100, GeForce Go 6150, GeForce Go 6100 (II) Primary Device is: PCI 02:00:0 +(WW) NV: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:1:3) found (--) Chipset Unknown NVIDIA chip found (II) resource ranges after xf86ClaimFixedResources() call: This PCI:0:1:3 device is new. It didn't exist under the proprietary BIOS, and is identified as such by lspci: 0000:00:01.3 Co-processor: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 036b (rev a2) and lspci -n 0000:00:01.3 0b40: 10de:036b (rev a2) What is this thing? A co-processor? [LinuxBIOS] Setting up memory registers

Hello everyone, I noticed all the SDRAM registers are different. Some is 8bit, some 16bit, and some 32 bit. I am working on my raminit.c file and and wondering if I sould be using the same bits as documented in the data sheet. It looks like in some of the other northbridge raminit.c files they are somewhat straight accross the board. Help? Thanks - Joe

[LinuxBIOS] Machine Check Exception with ECC DIMMs on MCP55 board

I'm able to boot Linux just fine on my MCP55-based board with non-ECC memory, but when I install ECC DIMMs I get a Machine Check Exception from Linux about half the time: CPU 0: Machine Check Exception: 0000000000000004 Bank 4: f6302001d8080813 at 00000000021fbd60 Kernel panic - not syncing: CPU context corrupt I haven't yet tried different ECC DIMMs to eliminate the possibility of a bad part. I suspect it's a software problem though. When I run memtest86+, it claims the memory is non-ECC, and the machine reboots itself after about 10 minutes of testing. I'm wondering whether LinuxBIOS is setting up memory properly. The board has a single two-core AMD Athlon 64 X2, identified by LinuxBIOS as: CPU: vendor AMD device 40fb2 CPU: family 0f, model 4b, stepping 02 brandId=0849 and I'm setting MEM_TRAIN_SEQ to 2 in Options.lb. I'm about to try 1 and 0 instead, to see if that helps. Can someone explain what exactly MEM_TRAIN_SEQ does? Is the proper setting dependent on the board, the CPU type, or both? The description in src/config/Options.lb is, um, a tad cryptic: 0: three for in bsp, 1: on every core0, 2: one for on bsp Any other pointers would be appreciated. --Ed
