What is the status of EPIA-M?

Hi, A couple of weeks ago, there was a message about EPIA-M support being checked in. Then later a brief message about possible NDA issues. Does anyone know what the status is now? Hello!! Takeshi I get latest cvs today. Then I configure and compile it for my EPIA. But ..it looks like that it doesn't work. I input my elf kernel like this. dd if=kernel.elf of=/dev/hda1 ( Because Maybe ... from debug message ... It looks like to find any elf image from sector 63 .. ) Is it right ?? When I use BOOT_IDE option, What does "payload command" do originally ? Anyway, I applause for your work. regards newbie.

Hi, Thanks for Takeshi. We now have better ram detection and vgabios support. I also applied hcyun's serial debug patch and epia support for ADLO. src/northbridge/via/vt8601/vgainit.inc src/arch/i386/lib/vgabios.c src/bioscall/pcibios.c src/mainboard/via/epia/Config util/ADLO/bochs/bios/rombios.c util/ADLO/Makefile This update should be very limited to epia. Takeshi, would you mind to verify the tree. Since I still have problem, I might have missed something. no docipl after make

Hi, i have an old gigabyte board with the 430TX chipset on it. For configuration i used the example from src/mainborads/digitallogic/smartcore-p5/config.example, because it uses the 430tx as northbridge and the piix4 as southbridge as my board does. After running the python program, i started to make a romimage. But i don't get the docipl file after make finshed. What can i do? Hi I've got this K6-2 that i haven'T used in months and would like to put linuxbios on. Chipset seems to be a MVP4 (vt8501) which i found some files for in the linuxbios source directory. But i'm still not sure if it is worth trying to replace the BIOS. I'd rather want to change the BIOS of my dual-P3 on a 440BX board, but as this is my primary machine i want to first do it on another. all the other Boards i have are intel FX Boards, which seem absolutely unsupported. I'd appreciate any help you can give. Thanks in advance Jonas Meyer

K7S5A (SiS735)

Hi, I would like to use linuxbios with my PC, but I'm not sure if my mainboard is supported or not. I've already read some articles about this mainboard and the chipset. Something about problems with using DoC. And SiS735 is "unstable" as I've seen on the status page. So, can somebody tell me which features exactly are suported with this mainboard? Perhaps somebody who has already tried to ise linuxbios with this mainboard. Or is there realy no support at all for my mainboard? Thx for any information, ciao, Peter

To add to Ron's message. It varies a lot with your experience and how dirty you want to get. A simple POST card and a lot of creative POST code bread crumbs is the cheap and dirty way to go, until you get the serial port debugger up and running. But it requires you to be really creative in crawling through the code. And takes a lot of time. But you can move up the a logic analyzer looking at bus cycles or an ICE (in circuit emulator) looking at CPU activity These two are expensive (lots of $10K), but you can often rent them. Setup is usually the time burner here. But with a LA you can take selective pictures of events chained together in time. I don't know if SIS has an ICE for their SOC products. Jordan PS: Has anyone done a USB interface low level debugger? Early BIOS or at least just prior to payload decompress. Hello! My name is Vova! I from Russia! I want to put on the computer (with chipset SiS630, motherbord iei NOVA-7896) so-called fast loading Linux Slackware 9 using your LinuxBios program. I have downloaded (as is written in the instruction) freebios-20010708.tar.gz and mtd-20000704.tar.gz. For me a question on STEP 2: *************************************** ************************** - go to www.kernel.org and get linux-2.4.0-test12 o Once you have pulled this file down and untar'ed it, apply the proper patch from the freebios/src/kernel_patches directory. The patch is: *************************************** ********************************* For me Linux Slackware 9.0 with a nucleus 2.4.20. In the instruction ask to download a nucleus 2.4.0!!!
