Hi!
I'd like to point out that I've merged a patch with Patrick's GRUB port in the debian package of grub, and binaries are now provided in sid:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/grub-linuxbios
Unfortunately it isn't fully functional because I had to remove the IDE driver which isn't legaly distributable (GPLv2-only). I hope this can be resolved soon since it restricts LB/GRUB usage to local patching :-/

All developers of the IDE driver agreed to release the GRUB2 version of the driver under GPLv3+. Only the OpenBIOS version stays GPLv2. So there is no legal problem with the IDE driver for inclusion in GRUB2.

Great!
But the tarball in linuxbios.org still says otherwise. Please could you update it?
(I know it might seem burdensome that this mail isn't enough, but this is standard practice within Debian; I hope you don't mind)
Hey Robert!

This is excellent. I need to start playing with grub2 soon, and this will make it a lot easier. Thank you!
Thanks, Ward.
