I got the latest version of LB2 as of today and followed the s2881 Built tutorial. I extracted the VGA bios from latest AMI bios (v208) using cbrom under Win-XP.
Ubuntu boots into Text mode, but fails trying to launch the GUI.
Can you describe more in detail what happens? Error messages? What happens when you try running startx from the command line? What's in the X log file?
Thanks, Ward.
Hi, 1st thing. My system always executes Fallback image "LinuxBIOS-2.0.0_s2881_Fallback Sat Oct 6 13:41:10 CDT 2007 booting..."
Ubuntu seems to start gnome. I'm not getting the gnome desktop. I see that gnome-session is already running, but can't run any graphic apps. It says "NO DEVICE" . I tried to run 'startx' from the shell and again I got "No Devices detected". Here is the log of X failure. ===
