Hello everybody,
I have recently purchased an EPIA MII 12000 to use a part of an HTPC project (specifically a mythtv frontend box) with the intention of using LinuxBIOS. I am now to the point where I am ready to flash the BIOS but I have run into a little bit of a snag and was hoping I could call on the help of the community. The problem is that none of the spare PLCC chips that I have lying around are detected by the flashrom utility and after removing the chip multiple times already I have decided it would be wise to invest in something like a bios saviour (as suggested in the howto).
From my google searches and reading this mailing list it appears as though
the RD1-PL is the version of the bios saviour that I need for this particular motherboard, however I am having a hard time find a place to buy this specific model. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase this model or if there is another model that will work equally as well. Also, if anyone can recommend a place to buy PLCC chips or any other solutions I would greatly appreciate it.
William
I never got flashrom to work on my board (same chip set, different board), try uniflash (www.uniflash.org), you'll need a DOS boot disk as well. Also, the RD1-PLs are no longer in production, and none of the distributers I know of have any. Here's the chip I'm using on my board: http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SST39SF020A-70-4I-NHEvirtu...
