linuxbios can support pcm-5823, but it needs etherboot. can pcm-5823 boot linux from doc embedded in the board directly?

It should be possible. Can you see it from regular Linux? PCM-5823 with DOC? IIRC, most 5823 don't have DOC socket. In normal case, pcm-5823 boots from CF card pretty nicely.
