Our hoster made a mistake during the last maintenance this week and it needs to be fixed. That requires another (but last!) downtime at the following time for two hours.
Start of maintenance:
Thursday, Dec 21 8:00 UTC
Expected end of maintenance:
Thursday, Dec 21 10:00 UTC
We are sorry for the inconveniences.
Felix
That's a polite way of saying that hetzner is making us take down the server and replace a 1TB drive that they accidentally installed with a 512GB drive that they were supposed to put in.
Shame on Hetzner. That's some crap there.

Well shit happens and nobody is perfect. They are also just humans. Their service is usually great.

I'm not blaming the techs. Sure, they screwed up. I don't care about that. But the company should just eat the cost instead of making coreboot pay or shut down the server.
It's trivial to them, and a pain in the ass for us. It's complete bullshit that they'd do this. The company should do better. This is crap customer service, and we both know it. They deserve to be called out for that. People should know that they're happy to screw their customers over when they screw up. Dec 20, 2023 at 15:44 by felixsinger@posteo.net:

So what did they do in the end? Did they take the disk and copy the data to the new one, or just swap them and let you start over with an empty disk?
Nico
The maintenance starts now.

Finished the maintenance.
All services are back. The performance might be a bit degraded during the next 30 minutes.
