Hi,
I had the idea of contributing basic information about hardware components to the coreboot documentation in the style of "What is Super I/O?" and similar.
What do other people think of that?
Best regards

Hi Christoph
I consider this a really good idea. It would help the beginners to understanding a lot of things.

Hello,
Adding to this, it would also be good to have what CPUs/chipsets/superIOs/etc coreboot supports. As I mentioned in another thread, this information is currently very disparate and out of date and can only really discovered by asking on this mailing list.
Sincerely, -Matt

Hi,
I'm considering to innovate kontron 986LCD-M wiki page. According to the new wiki it should be generated from /Documentation subdir of the coreboot source tree.

I had a similar idea of including a glossary with explanations at the highest level possible. Especially for the acronyms like IFD, GBE, ME, SOIC, CBFS, SPL which could be overwhelming for newbies. I wonder if Sphinx has a plugin that would automatically link terms in a glossary and even display the definition on mouse over.

I vaguely remember that there was a website with an online "course"/pages on the PC legacy architecture and Coreboot but I don't remember the link.
It talked about the PIC, ISA bus and Coreboot at the end.
If it's under a free software documentation license it might be a good basis to start from.
Denis.
Hi Denis
Are talking about this: https://lennartb.home.xs4all.nl/coreboot/coreboot.html
It is a really good documentation by the way :)
Thanks Rafael
