I'm leaning to applying the CAR patch (issue 26). This only affects k8. 
If anyone has a problem with this, let me know ASAP, else I will apply 
it later today.

I think I've resolved about 6 issues, I hope to get more done in the 
weeks to come. My goals is to have no unresolved issues by dec. 15.

I am O.K. with the CAR patch. The problem is the patch only works
for one Tyan motherboard. We need another patch to fix every other
boards.

the code for other MB, is sitting on my Laptop, I will produce one
patch after you applied my acpi patch...
