Grub2 and buildrom

Does the grub2 payload in buildrom have support for IDE disks?  Is it
only to be used for in-flash filesystems?

I'm trying to use grub2 so that I can switch easily between factory
BIOS and coreboot.  I'm already using grub2 to boot my kernel, so I
hoped it would be simple.

No, it has disk support. I've only tried with SATA but it works for me. At
least, when you are not trying to boot a xen kernel - still working on that
one :)
