Hi, all,
I joined AMD not long ago. It seems that there is a little difference in the memory term between Intel and AMD.
Intel: virtual memory----------linear memory----------physical memory.
AMD: logical memory--------virtual memory--------------physical memory. In AMD, virtual memory and linear memory are the same and exchangeable.
or linear memory
In LinuxBios community, which term is used?
I think we use the term 'flat memory' for the 32-bit mode we enter on startup.
On K8, we will (sooner or later) be dealing with long mode, and then it will get complicated, I think.
