FWIW, if you happen to know some promising high-school hackers, you might
want to point them at GSoC's little cousine GHOP, the Google Highly Open
Participation contest ( http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/2007-8/ ).
The webpage is outdated at the moment, but another contest is in the works
for later this year. Leslie Hawthorn will announce to the list and update
the web page when firm timeline has been set.
