yeah, vm86 mode overall is, from my point of view, a step backwards. We chose emulation after a lot of trials with other ideas.
So, maybe X works well with lots of cards, but I need to be convinced that the problems we're seeing are real emulator problems, not hardware setup problems. I'm not convinced we know what is going on here.
