The mtd drivers are complex but they cover a lot of corner cases flash_rom
does not (16-bit flash bus, etc). We have not hit those cases yet, so we
can use either flash_rom or mtd.

I know Eric uses MTD heavily so he and LNXI have a lot of expertise in 
this area.
