Someone mentioned ROMCC when I first started to inquire about V2. But it wasn't in the source tree for V2 and I had to not only go searching for it I had to figure out how to use it.:-(
It is, since a very long time now. freebios2/util/romcc/ And it is built and used automatically since when building LinuxBIOS v2.
Feel free to come back with questions to this list when you are evaluating firmware for your next project. :-)
