I am 99% sure this functions correctly. It's been a while but I think it was tested early this year as part of the coreboot support bringup.
Bear in mind the usual caveats apply; if you're not using the open source drivers for your card the manufacturer may have locked out passthrough, etc. nVidia is especially famous for this.
