Yes, someone refactored x86emu a while ago and made it a lot smaller, so that it would easily fit into a normal size bios together with the rest of LinuxBIOS and the payload(s)
I think there are many functions, which you have commented out, right?
Only in the int callback emulation. The x86emu part itself is complete.
However, I will try it. Two file versions later, the ops.c had have a great change, to support special VGA Bioses, but I'm not sure if that will help for my problems.
Cool! It probably makes sense to use a really old version of XFree86/X.org and look at the changes rather than diffing the files 1:1..
