I do the build with the modules, I insmode the modules, and most of the 
time the part is never IDed and/or writeable.

This may have gotten better. Overall MTD has been a headache with bproc 
nodes due to the large number of modules you have to load. Some sort of 
auto-loader for MTD modules would be nice.
