Just thought it might be fun to implement a totally new chip set :) Already have 3 system running Coreboot.

Well, the good side of the ali is that the docs are available. But if it is the p5a, the asus specific superio will trump whatever effort that could happen.
But, why bother?
Find a chipset and superio that are supported, buy some board that hasn't been implemented yet from like ebay. There is tons of options there.
This will get you much more recent hardware, which, when working well, gives you a freer system, that you can use yourself afterwards. Makes things more useful for the world, and give yourself more satisfaction.
So forget the ali chipsets.
