Yes, most Via C7-based Mini/Nano/Pico-ITX boards use LPC flash.

SPI NOR flash support in flashrom would be far more important for coreboot to be relevant in the future.
I'm not saying it couldn't support SPI, in fact I'm sure it probibly could. I'm just telling why I am interested in persuing this project, am what I am going to use it for. Along the lines if a modification for SPI happens, great :-)
