I would like to start a design based on the new Intel Atom (formerly Menlow) chipset.
For those who don't know what it is, it's a new embedded CPU able to run at 1.7 GHz with only 5W power comsumption.
I have heard of it.
I would like to know if someone in the coreboot community is working on the support for this processor/chipset and what's the development state.
That's great news Christophe, if you need any help just ask. I don't think anyone is currently working on this processor/chipset. We do have support for the Intel 3100 chipset. I think that is the newest Intel chiset we have support for, so that code may be the place to start. The Intel 3100 is supported by Ed Swierk, he is a really smart guy, and may be able to offer some help if you have any questions, as well as any if us on the mailing list :-)
As far as the processer we have several Intel embedded processers confirmed working:
Intel® Mobile Celeron Socket 479 FC-BGA Low Voltage Intel® Pentium® III Socket 479 FC-BGA Intel® Pentium® M Socket 479
Hope that helps.
