So after comment out jmp __cpu_reset will save the time under fallback mode. For S2885, I can not compile that under LOGLEVEL=8. And I have to comment out severl printk_debug in auto.c stage. Before Eric do sth about romcc, I think remove name member in chip_operation would be fine. First here are two examples. struct chip_opertations cpu_intel_socket_mPGA479M_control = { .name = "socket mPGA479M", }; Killing the name for cpu sockets allows us to kill the whole structure. struct chip_operations northbridge_intel_e7501_ops = { .name = "intel E7501 Northbridge", .enable_dev = enable_dev, }; First note that all we did with the names was to print them when we converted from the static to the dynamic tree. Nothing uses them anymore. Killing them is as simple as removing a structure member. And deleting a few lines of code. Bloatwise strings appear to be up towards the top of the list. This is really a continuation of killing the static device tree. If you like I will trade you gdb stubs for the currently useless debugging string names. ;) I just finished the code for that. VIA GPL Violation ?

hi guys was looking through via arena, and found this file : http://www.viaarena.com/guides/WinCE/fastboot%20v2.03.zip problem is, running strings */BIOS_*.BIN | grep inux gives 2 mentions of LinuxBios for each binary bios file, which makes the whole thing suspect... should via be hit with some GPL cluestick ?

I have some problem with buildtarget via/epia-m for freebios2. My environment is: SUSE 9, Python 2.3 At the directory "/opt/bios/freebios2/targets", the command "./buildtarget via/epia-m" makes the following error. Actually, just asking for the software (binary or source) is enough. They don't need to give it to _you_, if another third party has already acquired the binary or source (containing GPL code). Until the first public or _private_ release (binary or source) to a third party, modifications to GPL code can be kept private, but once any release of the code (binary or source) occurs, the full conditions of the GPL must be met. LinuxBIOS debugging with an emulator

Can someone tell me what the starting sequence is with LinuxBIOS? Reset jumps to crt0.s. crt0.s calls auto.E. auto.E is built using romcc, so source-level debugging is not possible. The statement locations can be found using the Lxxxx labels in linuxbios.map. Then hardwaremain is called. Hardwaremain is the first C function called. Crt0 and auto run out of FLASH. Hardwaremain is the first function called after LinuxBIOS is copied to RAM. Is this correct? Maybe this will help get the American Arium to work. Steve
