Unlikely. For one, it's one of many rumors (search around, and you'll
find that every IT company with a sufficient bank account was
"interested" do buy AMD at one point or another).

AMD is tons of different business units, and there was ever only one
that even acknowledged coreboot.
And their existing business case to justify the involvement with
coreboot doesn't vanish with a new owner.
