I see one .xcompile in the coreboot/payloads/tint-0.03b directory after a build attempt, which is an empty file. I use the stock gcc from Debian.

Something is going wrong with the invokation of xcompile.sh then? I assume .xcompile should have some contents.
Yes, You should have something in .xcompile xgcc path or hostcc.
