No, the goal is to make it hard for you to reflash. So the vendors keep coming up with new ways to hide this. Very annoying!
The two methods we use for the several motherboards we design a year to enable/disable flash writes are:
Method A - Use a jumper.
Method B - Use whatever GPIO is leftover on chipset or Super I/O.
