The real problems (in my view) are:

I agree, but would add that #1 has a correlation to #3. I tried porting a board over waaay back in the v1 days. With the limited information I had because of #3, it never became a success. I've stayed on the list because I'm quite interested in this area, but without proper #3, I'm at a real loss as to how to proceed on any project, as I don't fully understand some of what is going on the lack of #3 is meaning that I can't actually be a developer most of the time.

For me #2 is my main issue. Work & Family don't leave much time for LB:-( If only there were 48 hours in the day I would spend the extra 24 just on LB!!

I know the feeling. And it seems like every time I do have some time to work on things, something else comes up, or some piece of hardware fails. But 3 is also a huge issue as well, most of these companies aren't willing to hand out their datasheets to any old joe, especially not to be used in an open source project. Of course, more devs is always a desire in just about any project. Here, I don't think we could have enough devs to keep up with all the new hardware that's coming out, it seems like by the time a chipset is supported it's nearly obsolete.
