Hi!
I think it Is supported by Linux, but, some distributions may have a kernel that may not be compatible. So, you have to check which distribution can support it. Debian or Ubuntu are almost certainly compatible.

Is the main board : "ASUS socket 939 AMD A8V-VM SE" supported by LINUX ?
I guess you mean LinuxBIOS (Linux != LinuxBIOS).
YES !
No, unfortunately it's not yet supported (there's no support for the VIA K8M890 northbridge). There is work going on on the K8T890 I think, but I don't know whether those two are compatible... Uwe.
Are you sure, because on : http://wiki.linuxbios.org/index.php/Supported_Motherboards I see : A8N-E AMD K8 NVIDIA CK8041 ITE IT8712F AMD Athlon™ 64 / 64 FX / 64 X2 Socket 939 OK *25
- 25 Works fine, only smaller issues remain to be fixed. A list of known issues is available.
My question is : Can I install Linux with this main board ? ("ASUS socket 939 AMD A8V-VM SE")
Many thanks !
