Yes, sorry this one got so big... It's the result of a lot of
incremental work, not all of which would make sense to send in seperate
patches. I'll try to bite smaller chunks in the future (I hate big
patches myself). But we tested it many times every day for the last
couple of days and it works pretty well here.  And, if it has bugs,
we'll have to fix it anyways :-)

Thanks for the Ack, will catch up with my mail and check all the chunks in.
