How available are the datasheets for the Xcore86 and it's chipset? What's the life expectancy of the MicroClient Sr. (CX700M chipset)? I was just looking at their site the other day, they offer a c7/vx800 nettop with linux preinstalled that looks interesting too.

I am familar with the LinuxBios project and I looked at Coreboot before. The problem is there are very few motherboards supported. It isn't about how open is but rather on whether or not someone takes the time to support a motherboard or not. The Jr is going to be phased out in six months so it wouldn't be worth the time to port Coreboot to the Jr. However, we are just releasing the DX and soon we will have products based on the new Xcore86 CPU. Our base BIOS is AMI BIOS. If someone wanted to migrate Coreboot onto the new platforms, that would be great.
Does the Xcore86 support CAR? Looking at the chip data, it seems unlikely. And I'd rather not target a machine which has no CAR.
