I have an s2892 and an s2895 and they're very similar. I've used Linux as a payload on the s2892, but I haven't done it on the s2895 yet (just FILO.) If you use the approach in the tutorial on the s2892 (the OLPC way) that's on the wiki you should be able to fit everything you need in the ROM. The only difference is that you will need to enable support for your SCSI controller in the stripped-down Linux kernel, and use LinuxBIOS for the s2895 instead of the s2892.
Good Luck,
Myles

Has anyone been able to get a Tyan s2895 to boot from a 3ware 9550sx RAID controller using a LinuxBIOS ROM?
Not that I know of, but it will work just fine with a Linux kernel as payload.
