well, I would suggest looking at the nvramtool code and seeing what it is that makes it print that message, i.e., what is it looking for that it is not finding? The look at coreboot.rom file and see if the string it is looking for is in the rom image. Let's start there.
There is no substitute for spending a bit of time understanding WHY an error message is printed, not just WHAT is printed.
