Boot a PC104 from Sandisk Compact Flash

I am trying to get my PC104 to boot from 256 SanDisk Compact Flash Card. I have a 7GB HDD connected loaded with Redhat 7.2. I can boot from the HDD and CDROM. The HDD is /dev/hd0 the CF is /dev/hd1 I tried to build a Linux file system on the CF by mounting it at /mnt/CF and transferring all the appropriate files and directories. I guesse that's OK... I am using GRUB to choose between HDD or CF boot. I copied /boot/grub/grub.conf to /mnt/cf/boot/grub and edited appropriately Currently the PC104 boots from flash (/dev/hdc1) (but the GRUB choices only come up if the HDD is connected). The crash comes when init tries to mount /hdc1. I don't know why the system mounts / on /dev/hda4 when this is not what I setup in /etc/fstab My current thinking is that I cannot simply copy initrd to my new "root file system" because this has information in it about where to find the root file system. Is this correct? Can anyone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?? Michael Marriott

Hello, I could not find an email address or other method of contacting you so I am attemting to do so through this mailing list. My name is Eric and I own www.bioscentral.com. I noticed you had some mailing list issues and would like to know if you would like to have some forums made up for your use. As it is, I have forums for users to post questions to for some help with their BIOS issues. Although the site tailored to present BIOS's, i.e., AMI, Phoenix, Award, etc.. I can easily add forums for your use. Whatever you would want. If your interested in it, just let me know. Bios Central is a free site. The advertising on the pages is free as well. I make no money from any aspect of the site. I'm not sure if this would be a problem, but the entire site is free for anyone to use. I ask for no money or any other type of compensation. I'm just trying to lend a hand in your development of the LinuxBIOS. Bios Central is going on three years now. The original forums were pulled and these were installed in place of them. The original server that the site was located on did an upgrade that effectively torched the forums. Lost over 5000 messages as a result. It's current home in with a very reliable company that has excellent tech support. Great bunch of people. Anyway, it's been rock stable since moving last March. Not one issue. Suport for the Gigabit GA-6BXE

As I see, there is a posibility to use LinuxBIOS with the Gigabit GA-6BXC series mainboard. I have GA-6BXE so here's my question: how about installing LinuxBIOS on this mainboard. Could I use the files from GA-6BXC to my model ? If not, when (if its possible) is going to be suport for this. I think, that it's no much difference, between this models (am I wrong ?) Albeiro
