Issue #538 has been reported by Brian L. ---------------------------------------- Bug #538: [Soft Brick] x230 Dock Causes Internal Display to "Permanently" Malfunction https://ticket.coreboot.org/issues/538 * Author: Brian L * Status: New * Priority: High * Target version: none * Start date: 2024-05-14 * Affected hardware: Lenovo x230 ---------------------------------------- Environment: - Lenovo x230 - Stock screen replaced with Pixel Qi (not sure if relevant) (plug & play LVDS) - Coreboot using Heads (coreboot + linuxboot) - Official lenovo docking station connected to external monitor via DisplayPort Bug Trigger: Using Heads/coreboot fine for years with my Pixel Qi screen modded x230. I then bought a Lenovo docking station. Booted up, everything worked fine. Disconnected from dock, booted up, and there was no bios screen. Screen did not turn on until taken over by Linux Kernel. Once in userspace, wayland could no longer identify the monitor as a Pixel Qi or its proper resolution. EDID is blank. Booting with docking station allows bios to show on external display. Restarting did *not* fix the issue, reflashing heads did *not* fix the issue, flashing skulls (coreboot + seabios) did *not* fix the issue. Flashing stock bios *did fix* the issue. I can now see BIOS screen and get proper EDID in userspace whether on the dock or not. *However* reflashing coreboot again, even coming from stock bios working state, and I immediately now no longer get a BIOS screen or EDID, even without ever introducing the dock again. Micron e.MMC Memory(MTFC64GAPALBH-IT) is not detected

Hi, Our custom board is designed based on Denverton SOC. The used boot loader is coreboot-4.13 version and Linux kernel 5.10.30 version. In our design, the eMMC interface is used, and connected Micron e.MMC memory(MTFC64GAPALBH-IT) to it. The eMMC is enabled in coreboot device tree file. We are going to move Gerrit to a different server, which requires a downtime for a couple of hours. The maintenance is scheduled for today, 2024-05-18 9:00 AM UTC+0 *** Please DO NOT try using Gerrit from this time on *** The maintenance is expected to take ~4 hours. I'm trying to keep the downtime as little as possible. Since with the movement the IP address changes as well, it might take some time until Gerrit is reachable for you again. This depends on how frequent the DNS server you are using gets updated. If you run into connection problems, please make sure to clear/update your local DNS cache. Currently, Grub payload could turn coreboot-initialized simplefb to efifb, which can be easily examined from the dmesg log of GNU/Linux booted from Grub payload running atop coreboot-inited linear frame buffer (simplefb). coreboot 24.05 release tag on next Monday!

Dear community, Please be reminded that the next coreboot release, version 24.05, is scheduled to be tagged on Monday, May 13th. We kindly ask you to continue testing the mainboards, provide feedback, and, if possible, submit patches for review in case you encounter any issues. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Also, let us know if there are any patches that should be included in the release. You can do that by responding to this email or by adding the following hashtag to the related patch on Gerrit. The hashtag field is shown after clicking on the "show all" button from the top left information block of a patch. coreboot_release_2405 [1] We are using another hashtag to track patches which are important or useful in some way, maybe even ready to be submitted, but might break something and thus the risk is too high right before the release. So we prefer to submit them after the release which gives enough time for testing until the next release. Examples are version updates to the toolchain or updates to the FSP submodule pointer.
