we've been dealing with buildrom here all summer, as well as buildroot. They're wonderful when they work. Frequently, we find ourselves driving into a corner and the only way out is rm -rf and a clean checkout (this is also true for uclibc and busybox on their own!). The task they are doing is extremely complex and hard to do well. I'd rather not pull their unreliability into the coreboot build sequence.
