Do you have any plans for a regular release schedule for SeaBIOS? For the qemu 0.12.0 release, I'm more or less grabbing a git snapshot but for future releases, I think it would be nice to coordinate to make sure that we grabbed a snapshot that you felt was pretty stable.
Currently, qemu releases are anywhere between 3-6 months in duration. We plan the release date before the start of the release but we've altered the lengths to match up with distro cycles.

I too would prefer if qemu used a tagged release of SeaBIOS.
I did not have a regular release schedule in mind, but I think we can tag SeaBIOS in preparation for a qemu release. Should critical qemu fixes be needed, they could be made on a stable branch.
It's been some time since SeaBIOS was last tagged. I've been meaning to create a tag, but a couple of things are outstanding that I think should be included: there is a known issue with ohci keyboard init (not qemu impacting), and Gerd's option rom changes.

Do you have an ETA for tagging? My plan was to tag qemu 0.12.0 tonight but if you are planning tagging SeaBIOS in the next couple days, I can wait for that.

Is qemu 0.12.0 going to include the option rom via PCI bar support? Via fw_cfg interface?
I can tag in the next couple of days in either case. Not sure what needs to be included though.
