Hi, I was hoping for some feedback for an issue that popped up for some of our (i.e. Proxmox VE) users [0][1]. In the past we forced smm to be off for our QEMU/KVM instances, but changed that recently.
For some users (and I was able to reproduce it with a Debian 10 VM) this lead to a boot loop, when no display or serial display is used. With smm=off, it boots just fine. When the machine is i440fx, using -no-acpi also makes it work.
I'm not at all sure if this is a SeaBIOS issue at all, but I'd be glad for any opinions and suggestions for how to debug it further.
I attached the kvm commands and SeaBIOS debug logs, but they are likely useless: the one with smm=off and the one without are identical up to the point where the first reboot happens for the problematic instance.
