This patch series is not ready for merging. There are things missing and questions to be answered: - Is it necessary to retrieve any other data from the NVDIMM? - Is there any other nicer (and faster) option for the page table? - Make NVDIMM a compile-time option, as the other devices. - Add some kind of wrapper to the boot files instead of a direct vmlinux. - Add NVDIMM boot priority support. - Add support for intitrd and cmdline. Maybe in another NVDIMM, or in the same, or through fw_cfg.
Perhaps store a CBFS image in the NVDIMM? That could include the kernel, initrd and cmdline.
Any idea how the standards body envisioned this? Surely there's something in there... Matthew? Cheers, Hannes -- Dr. Hannes Reinecke zSeries & Storage hare@suse.de +49 911 74053 688 SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg GF: J. Hawn, J. Guild, F. Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg)
