IIRC, those were rebranded Lynx Point chips. A real 9 series (non-lp) was never released, AFAIK.
To be clear, LP stands for low power wrt. to Intels PCHs. And that means they are sold with the CPU on a single interposer for ultrabooks, usually called -U or -Y (e.g. Haswell-U, Broadwell-U etc.).
OTOH, H97 and Z97 are discrete desktop chips.
